In the new restaurant pavilion of the Aquapalace Prague Hotel in Čestlice, the interior design introduces Terresa, an à la carte restaurant expanding the hotel’s gastronomic offer. The proposal also includes a multifunctional rentable lounge, broadening the hotel’s capacity for corporate and private events.
The main conceptual starting point is the specific form of the pavilion, created by roofing over the original terrace. The design clearly distinguishes between zones of movement and zones of calm. Circulation routes are emphasized on the floor through a dynamic striped texture. In contrast, this principle is inverted on the ceiling plane: ash wood slats define the quieter areas. The slats serve multiple functions — diffusing light, integrating technical equipment, and enabling the suspension of translucent curtains. These curtains gently subdivide the space, creating intimate niches and allowing for flexible spatial arrangements.
A generous circular chandelier placed at the center of the layout acts as the focal point of the interior. The space beneath it functions both as a café hub and as a venue for live cooking shows, presentations, or special events. Spatial flexibility is one of the key qualitative parameters of the design.
The material concept is based on a combination of ash wood and anthracite and white surfaces in various finishes — from lacquered elements and upholstered leather to stone or marble surfaces. The result is a fresh, harmonious, and elegant interior that meets the standards of the hotel while offering a distinctly differentiated gastronomic experience.
